We have redefined chalet holidays in the Saalachtal valley in the Salzburg region and with a great deal of heart and soul, created a place of calm and relaxation for you. So that the most precious days in the year – namely your holiday in the Saalachtal valley in the Salzburg region – really become an opportunity for you to recover, rest and relax.
Our ancestral farmhouse in Unken which has been family-owned since 1380 is situated far from the madding crowd and the stresses and strains of daily life. Embedded in the mountains of the Saalachtal valley in the Salzburg region, surrounded by lush meadows and pastures, we are located on a slight mountain top with a splendid view. The farmhouse, with its historical outbuildings largely preserved in the original (the "Henhouse" chalet is one of them) as well as its own chapel, forms a small, self-contained hamlet with no immediate neighbours.
In a private garden in front of the door, there is a Weber gas barbecue, garden furniture, deckchair, sunshade and even a campfire area. And there is also a climbing frame with a swing, slide and sand pit available for all the children.
You are of course welcome to sample or purchase the products we ourselves produce on the farm such as speck, fruit brandy, jams etc.

You can choose between the "Henhouse" – a small chalet for up to 4 people and the "Cowshed", a really cosy holiday apartment in the farmhouse with its own entrance and terrace - it can accommodate up to 6 people. Both are equipped with a sauna !
Wellness in the "chicken coop"
Would you like to "unwind" on holiday? Really relax and do something good for body, mind and soul? Then why not book our "chicken coop"! In addition to the rustic and modern furnishings of the holiday cottage, you can enjoy your own sauna and outdoor hot-pot here - both are available to you without restriction 24 hours a day, every day of your holiday.
Take a sauna and cool off afterwards in the (unheated) hot-pot or with the garden shower. Or simply heat the hot-pot and enjoy the dreamlike view of the Pinzgau mountains from the warm water.
The “Henhouse” chalet at the Soderhof
In our "Henhouse" you will be living in a rustic but nevertheless modern chalet directly beside the farm. Here you can breathe fresh mountain air, enjoy the alpine atmosphere but still be within spitting distance of Unken.
With 2 bedrooms, a cosy eat-in kitchen with a homely wooden stove, a modern bathroom and a private sauna, you have all the amenities you require for a perfect holiday!
The "Cowshed” holiday apartment at the Soderhof
The “Cowshed” holiday apartment spans 90 m2 and extends over 2 floors in a cosy Pinzgau farmhouse. A wooden terrace on the ground floor and a balcony on the first floor provide a view of the Unken mountains that you will never forget.
A tiled stove provides that "home at last” feeling after an eventful day on holiday. 2 bedrooms and a cosy eat-in kitchen give you the space you need for your free time. And having your own sauna in the apartment can only have benefits for your health.

If you can’t do without excitement, parties and lots of neighbours when you are on holiday, don’t waste your time reading any further because here at the Soderhof in Unken it is all about lots of peace and quiet, sunshine, our sheep in front of our front door and copious amounts of countryside all around. You can simply enjoy the day, observing the animals grazing and firing up the barbecue on your own terrace.
Or alternatively, you could conquer the surrounding mountains on foot, by bike, or using the mountain lifts... a total feel-good holiday in the middle of the nature of the Saalachtal valley. In the summer holidays you can visit numerous bathing lakes and thermal spas in the surrounding area, the outdoor and indoor pools in the resort, the festival city of Salzburg which is right on our doorstep, as well as several large skiing areas such as the skiing area in the Heutal valley or the Almenwelt Lofer - these are just a small selection of the options and activities you have. And then in the evening you can “go back home” to your own holiday chalet.
